Nielsen Law is pleased to announce that attorney Liz Nielsen has become Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Less than 1% of Texas attorneys are certified in estate planning and probate law.

Being board certified is the highest level of certification an attorney can receive in a specific legal practice area. In fact, only board certified attorneys are allowed by the State Bar of Texas to publicly represent themselves as a “specialist” in a select area of law.
To earn the certification, Liz had to first qualify by demonstrating a history of substantial practice in the area of estate planning and probate. After qualifying, she spent countless hours studying volumes of legal articles, cases, and statutes. Then she had to take a complex day-long examination, which is similar to re-taking the bar exam, except that it is focused on a specific area of law.
Liz Nielsen is the founding attorney of Nielsen Law. She practices solely in the areas of estate planning, special needs planning, and probate. Over the years, she has helped guide hundreds of Central Texas families through the estate planning process. She has lived in Austin since 2006 with her husband, Ryan, and two daughters, Jillian and Penny.
The Texas Board of Legal Specialization certifies attorneys in 24 select areas of law and paralegals in eight areas. The Texas Board of Legal Specialization is the only organization authorized to provide this service to the citizens of Texas.
